Leadership Testimonials

Over the course of the coaching sessions, I have seen myself get more confident and also think you have grown into the coaching role. You are a trustworthy person and open to any issue discussion. The coaching is straight forward and direct, but you do not just give advice and point in the right direction, you give hints and ask the right questions that will change the way of looking at issues that will get people to find their answer. I can also say that you do not just focus on the work side of the coaching but also go into personal and mental situations if needed. I do like the mindset you have and the way of coaching. This has changed my perspective in a very positive way.

Julie R.

I found our coaching 1-2-1s extremely valuable to me as a team leader and also in my personal life. I felt that you listened to what I had to say and then guided me to think about the right decision to solve any issue I brought for discussion. Because we had regular 1-2-1s I was able to feedback while things were still fresh in my mind and sometimes easily follow on from the previous session. The coaching sessions we had regarding planning have made my work life so much easier and not as frustrating. Most of the time we found that I already had the answer to an issue within my grasp but I just couldn’t see it until we sat down and worked it out. We established my immediate and future goals and expectations and prioritized them so that I am now able to work efficiently, effectively and be more focused within my role. I would like to continue with these sessions in the future.

After a number of years at my current employment I was successfully promoted to a new role, this was a stepping stone to another promotion I desired... I was finding the step-up role to be very demanding/challenging for many reasons. Some of these had me questioning why I had entered this role in the first place, was I good enough, should I continue. Is it even worth the stress and surely, I wouldn't handle the next step I was looking towards. I mentioned all of this to Alex in one of my first coaching sessions in 2023. Before starting to Coach I was excited about these sessions until I realised, they were all about talking of myself. Not being a confident person despite how loud I am was not something I then felt I wanted to continue with. I started to shut down on my coaching not knowing what to say next. After recognising the signs, through his art of questioning Alex enabled me to understand not only what coaching is, but why/how coaching could be relevant to me as an individual, he reminded me how I am important to many aspects of life. Most importantly, he reminded me who I was, what the goals I wanted to achieve were whether a personal lifestyle or as an employee. Alex challenged me to open my mind, through his broad knowledge of coaching styles. He gave me much more assurance of myself and gave motivation to face my challenges and develop myself. The effective questioning he gave in my sessions lead to me being invited on multiple training courses to broaden my skills for not only the challenges I was facing in my role, but the next step up the ladder which I had also wanted for a long time. Through theoretical and practical methods Alex brought my mind back to a place where my confidence returned, I gained further knowledge plus I had assurance of many things I already knew from life experience whether negative or positive enabling me to now move to that next step. The beginning of 2024 I found myself gaining the Supervisory role I had been yearning for. Thank you, Alex, I fully appreciate it and I'm pretty sure others do too Your passion for this work would benefit others, I wish you well in where this could take you.

Each time I have gone into a session, I have come out feeling miles better, even when I go in thinking it is not going to make a difference. No matter what the issue is, the way Alex coaches me through the problem/situation helps me in thinking outside the box. For example, one time I was feeling down about myself, but then he coached me through using the circle of life, which allowed me to reflect and feel much better about myself. The reason I like his coaching methods is because it allows me to reflect on myself, my surroundings and gives me that time to think. I therefore believe his coaching is beneficial and helpful. Another example is when I was struggling with a situation and did not know what to do next. Again, this was broken down into stages, and key contacts which then gave me a plan of action. One key thing that really makes me feel comfortable is that he listens and comes across as friendly rather than just a coach. This creates a good atmosphere and allows me to ease into the session; the smallest thing such as asking how you are and what you are up to goes a long way.

Domas M.

I have done around x5 coaching sessions with Alex by this point as I am quite new in the traineeship program. As I have never had any form of official coaching in such a capacity, I did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with how the coaching was done. A positive note is that no answer is given to a problem that is presented to Alex, he would ask open questions and try to guide me to figuring out the answer myself. I believe that is a great way of building up confidence in the person being coached, as you are assured that you can reach a solution with your own skills and abilities. By providing guidance in such a way and occasionally steering the conversation in the right direction if I would trail off, Alex has allowed me to develop myself more than I would have without any form of guidance.

I'd like to start by saying that I’ve been really enjoying the coaching sessions so far. Your coaching approach strikes the perfect balance between offering solutions and allowing me to navigate my thoughts independently. You present options without doing the talking for me, which helps me see myself from an outside perspective, almost as if I was someone else observing, helping me find solutions to my own problems. Also, you provide support if I get “stuck”, helps the flow going and doesn’t make me worry about what would happen if I don’t have the words to express myself. That said, your coaching style not only helps me with my self-awareness and its application to my professional life, but also does so in a fun way. The sessions are lively and not at all boring. Overall, I’ve found the coaching to be very insightful. Seeing myself like an outside observer, but also hearing what I am perceived as, has clarified terms that have long confused me and there are already actionable steps for me to take. I’m really looking forward to more sessions, and I appreciate you being there to listen and help. Thank you for doing this, and I hope this feedback proves valuable to you in some way.
